Announcing the Updated FilmQi

We’re happy to announce the Updated FilmQi. We aim to provide a perfect tool that helps you, a starting filmmaker / creator, to improve your workflow for current projects, take on bigger projects and manage a higher volume of productions.

What problems did we solve in the new Update?

When grow towards bigger projects, it can be challenging to find an organised workflow. At the same time we know that a good organised project is essential to gain trust with big project clients. With FilmQi we provide the perfect process for small and bigger productions. We've added new tools and simplified existing ones, to provide a smooth and intuitive user-experience, during prepping and post-production. We’ve also integrated courses, tutorials and other resources that help you to take the next step in filmmaking and grow towards bigger projects and higher volumes.

New added tools:

One of the tools that make our heartbeat go faster is the Storyboard feature. This feature enables you to make a storyboard without actually drawing. We offer a massive database of movie stills and images so that you can make a picture based storyboard. This enables you to quickly draft out an idea and share with your client without needing drafting skills. Besides the images database you can also upload your own images. The feature comes with a comment section for each board to enable collaboration with your client and coworkers.

A shotlist that reduces random shooting

We’ve also added a shot list feature. This feature can either be used as a single shot list or as a shootingday schedule. It gives you insights of what you're actually going to shoot on set, allowing for efficient time management and also providing client satisfaction.

Smart Archiving

We all know that a messy archive is the achilles' heel of every starting filmmaker or content creator. To solve this problem, we have created an archive that organises all your footage. The archive also provides footage-tagging to help locate old footage with ease. It also has lots of resources that will help you to work remotely with editors and master and compress your footage according to industry standards.
This will enable you to outsource you postproduction while maintaining a professiona and structured workflow.

Improvements:

We did more than just throwing in some extra features.
The way you share projects is improved by having a single place where you can give access using a sharing link or directly invite people by email. The script and briefing section are equipped with 6 more templates.
We added extensive tutorials and resources that will not only help you to use our tools but also how to benefit from them in your day to day routine.

Timecode based feedback:

We gave our viewing section a makeover and added the option to provide feedback based on timecodes in the video. This enables smooth feedback sessions without a lot of misinterpretations and chaos. But we know that clients are never satisfied after one cut so you also have the option to add several versions to one viewing and make multiple viewings per project. This is great when you produce more than one video on your shooting day.
